Rev. Walton Yuen
Walton grew up in Hawaii in a non-Christian family, with very little exposure to the Gospel. God pursued him while he was at MIT in Boston, and Walton surrendered his life to Jesus in 1986. After working 4 years in industry as a computer engineer and serving in his church’s youth ministry, he answered God’s call to ministry by moving to Dallas to study the Word and get a Master’s of Theology in World Missions at Dallas Theological Seminary.
He pastored several churches in Texas and worked as a missionary in France to start a new church work. God has given him opportunities to head up ministries among youth, college students, internationals, and overseeing churchwide missions programs. He pastored a multi-ethnic community-based house church in Austin, TX, for 7 years before coming to Charlotte.
Currently, he leads the English-speaking ministries of Grace One Church. His passion is to lead the new church – with its strong Asian flavoring – to focus on missional activity that reaches out to the least, the last, and the lost of this city, regardless of race. His prayer is to see revival ignited in Charlotte in the coming days. Walton and Tina have two children, Joseph and Stephanie, who also love to worship and serve the Lord.
